Office of Internal Integrity
The Office of Internal Integrity (OII) receives and responds to complaints and allegations that cover any aspect of departmental activity from a wide variety of sources. In addition, the office initiates its own line of inquiry' based upon available indicators or generated research that a management review or investigation review may be needed. OII will carry out both routine scheduled and specially assigned internal audits designed to reduce or to eliminate the risk and liability faced by the department in carrying out its mandated functions. OII does not only respond to issues brought to its attention (reactive), but it is also pro-active in continuously evaluating information and reports (such as a modernized Unusual Incident Reporting system UIR). The Office of Internal Integrity’s manager reviews event reports on a daily basis, assign appropriate classifications and determines how the complaint or allegation will be handled and processed. The Office of Internal Integrity’s two (2) divisions include: the Investigation Division and the Administrative Adjudication Division.
