The DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) is a Social Services Agency tasked with providing holistic and therapeutic programs and services to adjudicated youth between the ages of 12-21 in the District of Columbia. In this effort, DYRS also continues to seek creative and unique talent from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. Our Human Resources office is actively recruiting highly qualified individuals to serve our youth in our secure facilities, offices, and the community. Recruitment is ongoing in the following department:
Youth and Family Services
The Youth and Family Services department provides community services for court-ordered youth (including Supervised Independent Living Programs, Extended Family Homes, Residential Treatment Facilities, and Therapeutic Foster Care). In addition, the department provides medical care, custodial care, supervision, services, support and opportunities to: youth committed to DYRS; and youth awaiting court processing who are placed in the secure detention facility (Youth Services Center) or shelter care by the DC Superior Court. This includes detained services, committed services, health services, and resource management and utilization. Our direct care positions within this department are vital in the success of assisting our youth in transition and require individuals who have in-depth knowledge and passion for positive youth justice and positive youth development.
Year-round hiring of direct care positions (including pooling of candidates) includes:
- Supervisory Youth Development Representatives (Full-Time & Part-Time)
- Youth Development Representatives (Full-Time & Part-Time)
- Social Workers (LGSW, LCSW, LICSW)
