The Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) remains fully committed to the safety and well-being of our youth, families, and staff. This Operational Status Report outlines current adjustments and will be updated daily throughout the snowstorm emergency.

Vendor-led activities are canceled beginning Sunday, January 25, 2026, and will resume Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

The Maya Angelou Schools at both locations will follow the operational status of DC Public Schools (DCPS).

Health & Behavioral Services:

Health Administration will continue all essential patient treatments, medications, clinical staffing, and necessary medical transport.

Behavioral Health services will remain available 24/7.

Hearings and Legal Communications:

All disciplinary hearings scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, are canceled.
