FY 18 Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Credible Messenger Initiative
The Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services’ (DYRS) is pleased to launch the FY 18 Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Credible Messenger Initiative. Through this initiative, DYRS strives to connect community members who share similar lived experiences with the youth and families served by DYRS. Credible Messengers are neighborhood leaders, experienced youth advocates and individuals with relevant life experiences who serve in a variety of capacities to coach, guide, mentor, and advocate for youth and families in both group and individual settings. The core components of the Credible Messenger Initiative are transformative mentoring and family engagement services. To submit an application, please use the DYRS online application portal. Application submissions will be accepted from May 1, 2017 through June 9, 2017. Additional templates, checklists and required documents for the application process can be found in the Attachments section below. One of those attachments is the Notice of Intent to apply template. Please note that all applicants must submit a Notice of Intent to Apply (NOIA) by May 26, 2017, per the instructions in the RFP. Notice of Funding Availability
The Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services’ (DYRS) released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Credible Messenger Initiative. The Request for Proposal (RFP) and full application process are now available!
Pre-Proposal Technical Assistance Workshops
DYRS plans to host two Pre-Application Technical Assistance Workshops. Please note that the location for one of those workshops has been changed from the original RFP. The details for the technical assistance workshops are as follows:

The Wednesday, May 10 Pre-Proposal Technical Assistance Workshop will be held at DYRS’ Headquarters, located at 450 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
The Wednesday, May 17 Pre-Proposal Technical Assistance Workshop will be held at the D.C. Rise Demonstration Center located at 2730 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE, Washington, DC 20032.
