Families Invited to District’s Back-to-School Event

Back2School Event Brings Together Families, Schools, and Community Partners to Support Young People Across the District

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Friday, August 14, the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, Department of Human Services, and Child and Family Services Administration will host its 4th Annual Back-to-School Event at The Fields at RFK Campus.

The event will bring together young people, families, schools, District agencies, and community partners to help DC students prepare for the upcoming school year and connect families with resources available throughout the year. 

Young people and families will have access to free backpacks and school supplies, school uniforms, haircuts, food, enrollment assistance, family-friendly activities, and resources from District agencies, local schools, and community organizations. 

The event is part of DYRS’ continued efforts to support young people and connect them with the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to succeed in school and in their communities.
